Teacher retention

We recognise that teacher pay is probably the most effective retention tool. We use a system of variable pay rates including the Main Teacher Pay Scale to ensure that we retain the services of the best quality teachers.
Hounslow LEA Gateway provides a range of face to face training courses, regular teacher forums and self-study modules to enable teachers to maintain their professional development. The subjects covered by these courses include Classroom and Behaviour management, the use of ICT and Interactive Whiteboards, Planning and Assessment, Literacy, Numeracy and ongoing Induction.
